What happens when, on a perfectly ordinary evening, all the things you believed in and took for granted are turned upside down? When her husband of more than 20 years is away on one of his business trips, Darcy Anderson looks for batteries in the garage. Her toe knocks up against a box under a worktable and she discovers the stranger inside her husband. It’s a horrifying discovery, rendered with bristling intensity, and it definitively ends a good marriage. ©2014 Stephen King (P)2014 Simon & Schuster Audio
My Review:
Even though this was a novella, it surely was written in true Stephen King fashion!  Although, I must say that it started out much more tame than most of his novels and then all of a sudden,  BAM!, it hits you like a ton of bricks!!  Oh how I do always enjoy a short story, especially when it's written as well as A Good Marriage.

Short stories are hard to review though, and therefore, I believe it's hard to give an extremely high rating due to not much time or content to really impress!

I can tell you one thing, this story will leave you questioning what you would do in the same situation!  The story is so shocking and appalling that it certainly will leave you with your jaw hanging, eyes wide open, while shaking your head, rending you speechless while you try to grasp what it was you just read or listened to!  I LOVE that about a book!

The narrator, Jessica Hecht does a pretty good job of narrating, however, I can't say that this particular listen was my favorite.  I got the sense that maybe she hadn't narrated too much!  But I do think it would take a very special kind of person to properly narrate a Stephen King novel, so with that being said, overall, I would give the narration a 3.5 rating!

Overall, this was a quick, shocking and thrilling listen/read!  I am absolutely happy with my decision to read this book and look forward to seeing it on screen!

His in-studio guest is twenty-five-year-old Misty de Vol Burgh, formerly the highest-paid escort in the city but now happily married to eighty-three-year-old billionaire Henry Burgh. It's all good fun until Charlie receives a chilling message: "It's take-out-the-garbage night. Time to kill all the hookers and wash the streets with blood." When Charlie is directed to a website that allows viewers to watch the murder of a prostitute in real time and promises that another killing will be broadcast live within the hour, the hunt is on. But The World According to Charlie D. has an audience of over a million listeners. The murderer could be anyone, anywhere. Charlie and his team have less than two hours to find and stop the killer.                                                                                                            ©2013 Gail Bowen (P)2013 Post Hypnotic Press
My Review:
I'd have to say that The Thirteenth Rose is the most thrilling of all the Charlie D Mysteries!  I also must say that it seemed to have the most mystery out of all four titles!  It was easily an entertaining read!

Daniel Maté did a superb job of portraying Charlie D, and honestly, he is what made the books for me!  He made listening seamless and flawless!  He sounded just like what I thought Charlie D should sound like and was the perfect persona for a radio show personality, especially a late night radio talk show host!  I really hope to see that he follows through on narrating and really hope to see him land some big mystery titles!!  This guy has it going on for him!

Gail Bowen is a great writer!  She knows what she wants to come across and delivers it with perfection!  She's got the short story knack down and I'll be interested to see what else she'll come out with!

Overall, I enjoyed all of the Charlie D mysteries and am glad that I went out on a limb and requested them!  I sometimes have a hard time venturing away from author's that are unknown to me, but this one was worth my time!  If you have a little extra time and want to read or listen to something short and easy, any of the Charlie D mystery short stories would be a great choice!

It's Father's Day weekend - a tough time for Charlie D, host of a late-night radio call-in show that offers supportive advice to troubled listeners. For years Charlie has been alienated from his father - a retired politician who was always too busy for his son when Charlie was growing up. The trouble is, his dad has chosen this weekend to attempt to reconcile with his son. Charlie is not keen to forgive. But Charlie's personal issues suddenly seem mundane when an email arrives from a young listener that outlines his very specific plans to kill not just his father but his entire family. The deeply troubled boy could be anywhere, and Charlie has just two hours to discover his identity and stop him from murder. My Review:
I must say that this was probably my least favorite of all of the Charlie D short stories, but even though it was my least favorite, it still didn't make me dislike it.  I think that each story has helped develop Charlie's character.

Gail Bowen seems to have a knack for writing short stories!  I have said it before and I will probably say it at least one more time, but she has mastered the length of story for a short story!  Too often, short stories are either way too short and don't divulge enough, or they are way too long and divulge way too much, but she seems to have the perfect recipe!

I was able to quickly listen to this and move on to finish the series with the easy listening from the narrator, Daniel Maté!  His voice has left a lasting impression on me and even though I read these a couple months ago, I can still hear his voice ringing through, clear as day!!

Overall, it was a quick easy read and I didn't mind finishing at all!

Charlie D is back doing his late-night radio call-in show. It's Halloween - The Day of the Dead. Not a day filled with good memories for Charlie, but the show must go on. His studio guest this evening is Dr. Robin Harris, an arrogant and ambitious "expert in the arts of dying and grieving," who also seems to be auditioning for her own radio talk show. Charlie and Dr. Harris do not hit it off. Things go from bad to worse when the doctor's ex-lover, Gabe, goes on air to announce that he's about to end his life. Dr. Harris is entirely unsympathetic until she learns that Gabe also has her daughter Kali and plans to poison her too. It will take all of Charlie D's on-air skills to save both Gabe and Kali. ©2010 Gail Bowen (P)2013 Post Hypnotic Press
My Review:
I think that this was one of my favorite stories in the Charlie D Rapid Reads series! I thought that it helped build up Charlie D's character even more from the first story, Love You To Death but it still stood out and told it's own story.

Again, I felt like the length suited the story perfectly!  It didn't feel like it was rushed or prolonged, it just fit together perfectly!  The narrator, Daniel Maté, again delivers a stellar performance, probably making this series as good as it was for me!

Each story can be read separately as a stand alone or together without you feeling lost or out in left field.  I think they are solid stories that are put together well!

Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another book by Gail Bowen because I found her Charlie D series to be rather entertaining!

Charlie D. is the host of a successful late-night radio call-in show. His listeners have a particularly intimate relationship with him and often reveal much about themselves, confident that he will honor their trust and that he can save them. In their minds, he is perfect: one of life's winners. But Charlie feels he's something of a fake. His easy confidence on-air belies the reality for a man born with a wine-colored birthmark that covers half his face. Love You to Death covers one hour on "The World According to Charlie D." - an hour during which he must both discover the long-time listener who is killing the people who trust him and attempt to come to terms with the man behind the birthmark.                                                                                                  ©2010 Gail Bowen (P)2013 Post Hypnotic Press
My Review:
I had actually only requested The Thirteenth Rose, on Audiobook Jukebox, not really know that first off, it was part of a series, let alone book 4 in the series, and secondly that it was a short story!  Much to my surprise, when I received the email from the Publisher, they had told me that they included the whole series for my enjoyment, if I so desired, or I was more than welcome to only read the requested book, so immediately, I was impressed with the generosity of the Publisher, so I figured the least that I could do was listen to all of them if they were going to be kind enough to give them all to me, plus, all four of them put together wasn't as long as a typical audio book normally is, so I started with this book, Love You To Death.

I have to be honest and tell you that given that I had never heard of the author before, and that they were all short stories, I really wasn't expecting much with the Charlie D series, but I'll be the first to admit that I was pleasantly surprised with my listening experience!  I enjoyed Charlie D as a character and his late-night radio broadcase/talk show and thought that the narrator, Daniel Maté, portrayed Charlie D, exactly how I would have pictured him, so bravo Daniel Maté, BRAVO!!!

For a short story, I think it was the perfect length to be able to convey the story that Gail Bowen was trying to get across!  It was a great introduction into the life of Charlie D and his nighttime radio show.  It was interesting enough to keep me listening and to make me want to move on to the second book in the series One Fine Day You're Gonna Die.

Overall, I thought that this was a great short story with good character buildup and a good plot!  I was impressed with how much  I liked this short story!  I definitely would have given it a 3.5 rating if it were available!

From the author of the critically acclaimed New York Times best-selling Archie Sheridan/Gretchen Lowell thrillers: The first in a nail-biting new series featuring Kick Lannigan, a young woman whose complicated past has given her a very special skill set. Famously kidnapped at age six, Kick captured America’s hearts when she was rescued five years later. Now 21, she finds herself unexpectedly entangled in a missing-child case that will put her talents to the test. Trained as a marksman, lock picker, escape artist, and bomb maker by her abductor, Kick could not return to the life of the average young girl after her release. So, in lieu of therapy, she mastered martial arts, boxing, and knife throwing; learned how to escape from the trunk of a car, jimmy a pair of handcuffs, and walk without making a sound - all before she was 13. Kick has trained herself to be safe. But then two children go missing in three weeks, and an enigmatic and wealthy former weapons dealer approaches her with a proposition. John Bishop uses his fortune and contacts to track down missing children. Not only is he convinced Kick can help recover the two children - he won’t take no for an answer. With lives hanging in the balance, Kick is set to be the crusader she has always imagined herself. Little does she know that the answers she and Bishop seek are hidden in one of the few places she doesn’t want to navigate - the dark corners of her own mind.                                      ©2014 Chelsea Cain (P)2014 Simon & Schuster Audio, all rights reserved.
My Review:
Heartsick was one of the very first books that I read when I really started on this reading journey, so obviously that was my first Chelsea Cain book!  It was part of the reason I became so obsessed with reading and mystery books!!!  I quickly devoured the entire Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell series, rating every single book a 5 star read, with the exception of The Night Season, to which I rated a 3 star read!  So when I heard that Chelsea Cain was writing a new series, to say that I was stoked is to put it mildly!  I did whatever I could to get my hands on a copy as quickly as I could so when I was given a copy for my Kindle by Edelweiss and also an audio copy by Audiobook Jukebox, I was thrilled!

I tried really hard to go into this book without expectations and tried to totally erase Archie and Gretchen from my mind, to give this book the fairest shot I could, and I feel like I was totally successful at that!  Kick Lannigan is an awesome character, that I feel with go very far, just like Cain's other series!   I really can't wait to see what Cain has in store for Kick in the future!  I do still hope we will see more Archie & Gretchen though...just a side note!

Cain has such wonderful writing abilities!  She is a writer like none other!  There has been a lot of bad press surrounding her lately, and I really just tried to put that all aside and read and listen to the book for what IT was, not what was going on around the author right now!  I did really enjoy One Kick and gave it a solid 4 stars!  It was action packed and full of surprises, with great character development and solid writing!

The narrator did a great job of reading One Kick and I was surprise that when I looked her up that I did not find more to her credit!  She sounded like a seasoned narrator with impressive skills for reading a Chelsea Cain book!  I hope to hear her in the future in the Kick Lannigan series!

Overall, I did really enjoy the book, however, I did find a few parts a bit hard to follow to where I had to rewind and listen again, but it wasn't so much that it totally distracted from the book.  I've always felt like Chelsea Cain was a go-to author for me, and since I found her a few years ago, have jumped at any new release she has had, and bad press aside, I'm sure I will find myself continuing to do that in the future, because with the ending of One Kick, I know Kick will be up to something, and I just have to know what that's going to be!

In the title story, a white aspiring professor is convinced she is being followed. No need to panic - she has a handgun stowed away in her purse, just in case. But when she turns to confront her black male shadow, the situation isn't what she expects. In "The Rescuer" a promising graduate student detours to inner-city Trenton, New Jersey, to save her brother from a downward spiral. But she soon finds out there may be more to his world than to hers. And in "The Last Man of Letters" the world-renowned author X embarks on a final grand tour of Europe. He has money, fame, but not a whole lot of manners. A little thing like etiquette couldn't bring a man like X down, could it? In these and five other biting and beautiful pieces, Oates confronts, one by one, the demons within us, demonstrating that sometimes, it's not the human side that wins out.                                                                                                                                                                               Contents:    "The Home at Craigmillnar", read by Ray Chase; "High", read by Donna Postel; "Toad-Baby", read by Luci Christian; "Demon", read by Chris Patton; "Lorelei", read by Tamara Marston; "The Rescuer", read by Julia Whelan; "The Last Man of Letters", read by Ray Chase; "High Crime Area", read by Julia Whelan                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   ©2014 Original material, The Ontario Review, Inc. My Review:
The first book I ever read/listened to of Joyce Carol Oates was Daddy Love, and I absolutely loved all of the sick and twisted parts of that book.  So, when it came time to listen to High Crime Area, I was pretty excited!

The first short story started out in true Joyce Carol Oates fashion!  I was just listening along, and BAM...the unthinkable happened!  So I thought that this was going to be a great set of short stories! However, it seems that as each story progressed, the worse they got and harder they were to follow.  I can't say that there were any stories after the first one, that even began to peak my interest, let alone make a memorable impression!  I didn't find any of the stories to really be dark and dreary, as the titles depicted.  All of the titles were different lengths, with the feature title feeling long and drawn out, for no reason at all.  But it was also the farther thing from scary or dreadful!  So, needless to say, I was pretty disappointed with these short stories!

Each story was narrated by a different narrator, and I thought that was great, so you could easily distinguish between the stories!  I can't say that one narrator was better than the other, however, had they had a better collection to work with, I may have gotten a better impression!

Overall, High Crime Area seemed lengthy and unmemorable; a major miss for me!  I think when you have a collection of several short stories, you are going to have stories that you like and stories that you don't, but the stories that I didn't like far outweighed the one story that peaked my interest! However, this flop absolutely will  not stop me from giving another Joyce Carol Oates book a try, because Daddy Love was an absolute hit for me, so I can't wait to experience that all over again!

A killer targets a peaceful lakeside community, and one family is changed forever by secrets and lies. Evening Lake is idyllic, peaceful, with a close-knit community of families who have been coming to this western Massachusetts getaway for decades. Then newcomer Lacey Havnel and her daughter, Bea, move in. They are nothing like the well-heeled families who populate Evening Lake. Mysterious and rough around the edges, they keep to themselves. Detective Harry Jordan sees his lake home as a respite from solving crimes on the streets of Boston. The Osborne family views their cottage as a way to avoid the distractions of life - especially for Wally Osborne, a famous horror writer who seems to need the peace and quiet more than anyone. One night, Harry is walking alongside the lake when the night is rocked by an explosion: the Havnel house is engulfed in a conflagration, and young Bea is seen fleeing, hair on fire, and plunging into the lake. She survives, but her mother does not, and Harry is pulled into the investigation. Unbeknownst to the rest of the community, Diz Osborne, the youngest Osborne son, carries a weighty secret about who else he saw rowing on the lake that night. When it's discovered that Lacey died not from the explosion but from a knife wound, it's soon clear that a murderer is on the loose. And this murderer is poised to strike again and again. Told with Elizabeth Adler's inimitable style, illuminating descriptions, and intricate family dynamics, Last to Know is the definition of a pause-resister.                                                                        ©2014 Elizabeth Adler (P)2014 Blackstone Audiobooks

My Review:
This is my second Elizabeth Adler book and I am becoming increasingly interested in her as an author.  I know that some people aren't a fan of her writing, as it does tend to be a little predictable at times, but none of that bothers me!

Last to Know is action-packed and full of twists and turns that will keep your brain rolling, trying to figure out what is going to happen next, why, and who did it!  I think that Adler does an extraordinary job of keeping a reader entertained and having such creative plots!  It did feel a little slow to start, but I thoroughly enjoyed the different style of writing in that we heard thoughts from the killer throughout!  I absolutely loved that about this book!

Adler's characters are and interested mix, which gave the story more depth.  Just like every book and real life, you have your characters that you like and ones that you don't!  Some seem needy and whiny, while others are interesting and charismatic!

I think that the narrator (in some ways) gave away who the killer was, or at least made it pretty evident what you should look for when looking for the killer, so that was a little disappointing.  I didn't mind listening to Amy Rubinate at all, however, I felt like Joe Barrett drug the first part of the story out too much, which almost caused me to lose interest!  Luckily, I pulled out of the funk, and ended up enjoying the remainder of the story.

I think that Elizabeth Adler has such unique writing abilities!  I am no expert, by any stretch of the imagination, but I would think that she would have a better response if her books were a little harder to figure out, with it taking at least a little longer than halfway through the book!  I know that a lot of people are turned off when they figure out what is happening early on, so postponing that could garner more positive attention!   I found that with Last to Know and the last book of hers that I read, Please Don't Tell, that I was able to figure out the who-dun-it at least half-way through the book!

Overall, I will still try more books from Elizabeth Adler, and enjoyed listening to Last to Know!

My Review:
For this being a self-published book, I must say that I am impressed.  It appears that this is the first book of this nature for author Susan Sundwall, and she did a pretty good job!

I always think that I want humor while reading a mystery, and if that's the kind of book you like, then you should like The Red Shoelace Killer.  It was hard at times to take the book serious though due to the funny content of the book!

I didn't care for the narrator, Lee Ann Howlett, too much though!  I would have taken her to be quite a bit older than what her picture appears based on the sound of her voice.  Maybe it's that she doesn't typically read mystery books...I don't know, but I wasn't impressed.

I felt that Sundwall did a thorough  job of creating solid characters throughout the book, it was just the story that I had my dislikes with.  I am a fan of hard-core mystery books, and this just doesn't fit within that category.  Yes, I do venture beyond my typical likes, I just cannot say that this is a book that I really liked!

Overall, I think that Sundwall did a good job with what appears to be one of her first major writes!  I also think that practice makes perfect and that this has the potential to be a decent series, should she pursue the series in the future!

Allison Weiss has a great job...a handsome husband...an adorable daughter...and a secret. Allison Weiss is a typical working mother, trying to balance a business, aging parents, a demanding daughter, and a marriage. But when the website she develops takes off, she finds herself challenged to the point of being completely overwhelmed. Her husband’s becoming distant, her daughter’s acting spoiled, her father is dealing with early Alzheimer’s, and her mother’s barely dealing at all. As she struggles to hold her home and work life together, and meet all of the needs of the people around her, Allison finds that the painkillers she was prescribed for a back injury help her deal with more than just physical discomfort--they help her feel calm and get her through her increasingly hectic days. Sure, she worries a bit that the bottles seem to empty a bit faster each week, but it’s not like she’s some Hollywood starlet partying all night, or a homeless person who’s lost everything. It’s not as if she has an actual problem. However, when Allison’s use gets to the point that she can no longer control--or hide--it, she ends up in a world she never thought she’d experience outside of a movie theater: rehab. Amid the teenage heroin addicts, the alcoholic grandmothers, the barely-trained "recovery coaches," and the counselors who seem to believe that one mode of recovery fits all, Allison struggles to get her life back on track, even as she’s convincing herself that she’s not as bad off as the women around her. With a sparkling comedic touch and tender, true-to-life characterizations, All Fall Down is a tale of empowerment and redemption and Jennifer Weiner’s richest, most absorbing and timely story yet!
My Review:
This was my first read by Jennifer Weiner, so I honestly had no expectations going into this book.  I just knew that this was a subject matter that a lot of people silently face, so that peaked my interest and boy, what a roller coaster ride it was!  It reminded me of a train wreck that you know is going to happen but you just can't cover your eyes or go away, and you just sit and watch, wide-eyed and mouth gaping wide open in horror as it all happens!

The narrator, Tracee Chimo, did a spectacular job at voicing this story!  It appears that this very well may be her first publication, and if that is a case, you would have never been able to tell by listening to her!  I can't give her enough praise for such a wonderful reading voice!  And for the parts that she played Ellie, my gosh, she sounded just like a little girl!  She did a great job of distinguishing characters from each other!  She is a top-notch narrator that many authors should jump at the chance to have Chimo narrate their book!

I think that the story is thorough (maybe too-much so) and complete!  I do feel that parts of it drag along, so there could have been some parts that wouldn't have hurt to have been left out.  However, I believe that every author writes what they write for a reason, and perhaps she felt that all the little details were necessary to get the full story across.

I think that this is a real-life problem, that happens to your every day person, and that it is great that Weiner wrote this to help get awareness out.  Too often, people don't think they have a problem until it's too late, and denial is a hideous thing!  This book shows exactly that!

The main character, Allison Weiss was really built up, but I felt like all the other characters lack a bit. I understand that the story was about Allison, however, I think the story would have benefited from a little more for each character!   I also felt like the author touched on the side-parts of the story, but that's it, just touched on it enough to mention it and nothing from there.

I was a little disappointed at the uncertainty of the ending.  I am the type of reader that likes a definitive this or that happened, so it always drives me nuts to read an entire book and then still wonder what happens afterward, especially when it doesn't appear that a sequel will be written.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to the narrator and the story.  I do feel like there was a bit too much detail in Allison's story, and not enough character detail, and the ending left me open to questions, hence the 3 star rating.  I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another title by Jennifer Weiner and I absolutely would line up to listen to another book narrated by Tracee Chimo!

Welcome to Book One of The Liberty Series, where love, friendship and family life arrive with a second chance in the most heartwarming circumstances.

Petty thief Birdie Kaminsky has arrived in Liberty, Ohio to steal a treasure hidden since the Civil War. She’s in possession of a charming clue passed down in her family for generations: Liberty safeguards the cherished heart.

The beautiful thief wants to go straight. She secretly admires the clue’s author, freedwoman Justice Postell, who rose above the horrors of slavery to build a new life in Ohio. According to family lore, Justice left South Carolina at the dawn of the Civil War. Heavy with child, she carried untold riches on her journey north. As Birdie searches for the treasure, she begins to believe a questionable part of the story: a tale of love between Justice and Lucas Postell, the French plantation owner who was Birdie’s ancestor.

If the stories are true, Justice bore a child with Lucas. Some of those black relatives might still live in town. Birdie can’t help but wonder if she’s found one—Liberty’s feisty matriarch, Theodora Hendricks, who packs a pistol and heartwarming stories about Justice. Birdie doesn’t know that an investigative reporter who has arrived in town will trip her up—as will her conscience when she begins to wonder if it’s possible to start a new life with stolen riches. Yet with each new clue she unearths, Birdie begins to discover a family history more precious than gems, a tradition of love richer than she could imagine.

The books of The Liberty Series work as stand-alone novels you may enjoy in any order. Look for the other books in the series: Second Chance Grill, The Impossible Wish and Four Wishes.

First off, I must say that I really do wish that all sources for which you can submit a review to would allow half ratings, because I strongly believe that Treasure Me deserves a Solid 4.5 rating!!  I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of reading this book!!

Christine Nolfi has expertly written this book with the most descriptive characters and settings of most books that I have read.  I have this very clear picture of who Birdie Kaminsky is and of what Liberty, Ohio is like! There are some stories that you read and just go along with the lines, and there are other stories that you read and get lost in the words, which leaves you with a feeling that you are within the confines of the story yourself!  The latter is exactly what happened for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the Liberty experience! Nolfi has skillfully and proficiently intertwined the "old" Liberty in with the "new" Liberty, leaving the reader feeling like he or she has a vast knowledge of the history, present, and even the future of the town!

Treasure Me is the perfect combination of humor, mystery, and intriguing relationships that gives the book a perfect balance!

This book was such a pleasure to read!  I already have book two in the Liberty series, Second Chance Grille, the prequel to Treasure Me, on my Kindle so I certainly will be continuing on with the antics of the Liberty crew and I can't wait to see what is in store for them!

Stellar writing Christine Nolfi, stellar writing!!

In Edgar Award-winning author Meg Gardiner's new stand-alone thriller, an injured cop and an ex-thief hunt down a killer nobody else believes exists.
When shots ring out in a crowded Los Angeles club, bartender Harper Flynn watches helplessly as her boyfriend, Drew, is gunned down in the crossfire. Then somebody throws a Molotov cocktail, and the club is quickly engulfed in flames. LA Sheriff Deputy Aiden Garrison sees a gunman in a hoodie and gas mask taking aim at Harper, but before he can help her a wall collapses, bringing the building down and badly injuring him.
A year later, Harper is trying to rebuild her life. She has quit her job and gone back to college. Meanwhile, the investigation into the shoot-out has been closed. The two gunmen were killed when the building collapsed.
Certain that a third gunman escaped and is targeting the survivors, Harper enlists the help of Aiden Garrison, the only person willing to listen. But the traumatic brain injury he suffered has cut his career short and left him with Fregoli syndrome, a rare type of face blindness that causes the delusion that random people are actually a single person changing disguises.
As Harper and Aiden delve into the case, Harper realizes that her presence during the attack was no coincidence - and that her only ally is unstable, mistrustful of her, and seeing the same enemy everywhere he looks.

My Review:
First off, I must start out with saying that I would have definitely have given this book a solid 3.5 rating (however, that I cannot do that on Goodreads!)  I did like this book, it just did not end up being one of my absolute favorites!!

I had both an audio version and a kindle version to review, and I must say that I liked the kindle version slightly better than the audio version because it was a little hard to follow on audio.  Nonetheless, the narrator, Angela Brazil, did a good job with the narration of this story.  There was just such extensive dynamics included in the story that made it more difficult to follow while listening.  I found that by reading, I was able to follow it a little easier.

This was my first Meg Gardiner book and it certainly won't be my last.  I think that her writing is imaginative and creative.  I found the story line to be unique, unlike any other story that I have ever read, and that, is probably my favorite thing about the book.  I also thought that it was quite suspenseful, and from the beginning, I never would have guessed the outcome!

The book was full of many diverse characters that kept me wildly entertained while reading and listening. Something seemed to keep me pulling for Harper!

Overall, I did like this book.  I wouldn't classify it as a favorite of mine, but I certainly wouldn't discount this author and will absolutely pick up the next book of hers that peaks my interest.
