What happens when, on a perfectly ordinary evening, all the things you believed in and took for granted are turned upside down? When her husband of more than 20 years is away on one of his business trips, Darcy Anderson looks for batteries in the garage. Her toe knocks up against a box under a worktable and she discovers the stranger inside her husband. It’s a horrifying discovery, rendered with bristling intensity, and it definitively ends a good marriage. ©2014 Stephen King (P)2014 Simon & Schuster Audio
My Review:
Even though this was a novella, it surely was written in true Stephen King fashion!  Although, I must say that it started out much more tame than most of his novels and then all of a sudden,  BAM!, it hits you like a ton of bricks!!  Oh how I do always enjoy a short story, especially when it's written as well as A Good Marriage.

Short stories are hard to review though, and therefore, I believe it's hard to give an extremely high rating due to not much time or content to really impress!

I can tell you one thing, this story will leave you questioning what you would do in the same situation!  The story is so shocking and appalling that it certainly will leave you with your jaw hanging, eyes wide open, while shaking your head, rending you speechless while you try to grasp what it was you just read or listened to!  I LOVE that about a book!

The narrator, Jessica Hecht does a pretty good job of narrating, however, I can't say that this particular listen was my favorite.  I got the sense that maybe she hadn't narrated too much!  But I do think it would take a very special kind of person to properly narrate a Stephen King novel, so with that being said, overall, I would give the narration a 3.5 rating!

Overall, this was a quick, shocking and thrilling listen/read!  I am absolutely happy with my decision to read this book and look forward to seeing it on screen!
